Hi! I’m Rebecca, and this is a little bit about me! I am a paramedic, Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and an American Heart Association (AHA) certified CPR instructor. I also own a small sewing business, where I make creative, custom, sewing designs. www.inspiredbykrazy.com
I am an Army Veteran and spent six years active duty as a flight paramedic on the Black Hawk helicopters. I am a wife. I am a mother of three beautiful children and two amazingly loyal dogs. I have experienced three losses, one before our first born, and two in-between our second born; one of the losses was trisomy 13.
With my first born, I had planned a natural unmedicated hospital birth, but ended up with an epidural and other interventions I did not want. My second born was a planned home-birth with my 3.5 year old there to witness the birth of her brother, such an amazingly different experience! I fell in love with everything birth related!
When I had my first child, I discovered there is a huge void in the education and support we receive during pregnancy, birth, and beyond. I have seen many parents make uninformed decisions, sometimes based on fear. I wanted to change that. My passion for teaching, and my passion for birth and babies led me down the path of becoming a Childbirth Educator. It is my calling to educate new parents to be able to make the best informed decisions for their birth, and for their baby. The importance of lactation/breastfeeding and postpartum support are often overlooked but are so crucial to the well-being of the mother, the partner, and the baby. I never would have been able to breastfeed my oldest for 3.5 years without the support and information I personally received. I strive to provide the most loving support, and up to date evidence based information to all of my clients.
